Privacy Policy
Version 1 - August 2026
Please read below, since it forms the basis of your data processing, and feel free to approach the next steps accordingly:
Data collected
(1) Active submission - whatever you submit on the contact form or via your email. For example, your name, email ID, more if you choose to divulge more.
(2) Passive collection – similar to industry practice, IP address, browser type, device information, and similar technical details which can identify you. Please also check the section on Cookies below.
Just for clarity, the blog is not targeted to anyone who is not an adult, however, if someone from that category visits, the above shall apply. To reassure parents, this is an educational blog and has no harmful content.
What do I do with the data
· Use it to communicate with you.
· Send newsletters and updates to you, with an option for you to unsubscribe.
· Use tools to analyses the traffic – this may be Google Analytics or any other tool, which I will update from time to time under this Policy.
· Improve my content.
Just to clarify, I don’t sell your data, subject to the below of external third parties like Squarespace and Namecheap, on which unfortunately I don’t have control.
How is the data processed
Since the website is on Squarespace, this data will be processed based on Squarespace and its subcontractors’ policies and practices. Similarly, email is powered by Namecheap, and their policies and practices will apply. Furthermore, Google Analytics policies and terms will also apply presuming I use their analytics tool in due course, or its equivalent terms and conditions based on the tool I use (which as mentioned above I will update under this policy from time to time):
The cookies Squarespace uses – Squarespace Help Center
Namecheap.com - Legal - Privacy Policy
Privacy Disclosures Policy - Analytics Help
How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services – Privacy & Terms – Google
Safeguarding your data - Analytics Help
Transfer of Data
I don’t transfer your data, however, based on the locations of data servers and storage of Squarespace and/or Namecheap, there may be cross-border movement.
Cookies
Because Squarespace, Google/equivalent and website data analytics need this, these become relevant. The first category is essential cookies - which is required when you browse the website, the second category is optional cookies - which are used for analysing traffic, etc.
Please check the above links for more details. Feel free to adjust your cookie preferences in the cookie banner.
Duration
For as long as required for the above purposes, unless otherwise required by applicable regulations.
What is the basis of data collection
This is based on different types of data:
· One is your consent – your form submission or email dispatch acts as your consent.
· Another is legitimate interests, which applies to essential cookies.
Your rights
Deletion of data
You can ask me to delete your data at any time, which can work in two ways:
(1) You want to delete the previous communications, but wish to continue the future communications, newsletters, etc., - in which case I will delete any prior contact form submissions and emails from my mailbox.
(2) You want to cease communications and want to go for deletion accordingly – in which case I will delete your contact details and remove your subscriptions in addition to the above, bearing in mind that mailboxes can retain memories of previous contacts. Goes without saying, if you choose this option, I will be unable to share future content or communicate with you further regarding my website/blog.
A clear request would help me support you swiftly, in any case, upon receipt of any such request, I will endeavour to respond within one week to clarify with you.
Correction of data
If you notice any errors in your data, you can ask me to correct it.
Extraction of data
If you wish to see what data I have of yours, feel free to ask me.
General clarifications:
(1) Please note that data with or processing by third party platforms like Squarespace, Namecheap or Google is outside my control, including their servers and cloud – hence not possible to cover in the above. Having said that, I have done my best by using the industry leaders and trusting them to follow best practices.
(2) The above regarding deletion, correction and extraction data apply to individual data which identifies you, not for aggregated data, since that consolidates multiple visitors’ data.
Industry practice
This model is pretty much how any blog website would work - with some variations, depending on where it’s hosted.
Updates
This Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be posted right here with an updated effective date.
